High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) uses a much smaller, user-friendly connector than the DVI connector. Compatible with: standard, enhanced, or high-definition video, plus multi-channel digital audio on a single cable.
It transmits all ATSC HDTV standards and supports 8-channel digital audio, with bandwidth to spare to accommodate future enhancements and requirements. HDMI is fully backward-compatible with DVI hot plug for DTVs.
HDMI DTVs will display video received from existing DVI-equipped products, and DVI-equipped TVs will display video from HDMI sources. These cables have matched impedance, PVC jacket, molded ends and inner hood soldered 360 degrees to the connector for complete end to end shielding.

I have tried for over 2 weeks or so to get the right cable. Don,t want to mess with it any more. I ordered a 10'HDMI to DVI cable for my new TV on the 3rd of June I think, anyway I recieved a 6' cable. All the same girl tells me ios ok ok ok and its not ok , I was told the 10' cable would be sent and to send the 6 ' cable in the box I would recieve.
This cable is excellent quality, and a fraction of the price of similar cables available at retailers. Gary in Tampa
No problems using this cord with my Macbook Pro to my Samsung 1080p TV. Great purchase for such a cheap price.
It works, is cheap, and seems to be the appropriate length; the only thing I've noticed is that if the HDMI part of the cord is shifted left or right everything is still visible but it all becomes a shade of blue (I'm assuming the cable is at fault).
Overall it's a good product and a much better value than the same cables bought from Best Buy for $70. The HDMI side was fine. I would not describe the cable as "Premium". Although it did eventually fit into the dvi adapter slots, a number of the prongs were bent and needed to be adjusted to get these cables to work. I guess you get what you pay for.
